Hi Morris, The $ character should come before every NMEA sentence, and there should be several of these in each data burst. You probably can configure these modules to only have one, and that might be what you're seeing. Out of the box the Lassen IQ spits out about 10 lines every second, each beginning with the $ like this:

It should fire up and start spitting this stuff out. Can I ask what you're doing with it?
