Just saw that the 2010 Federal budget says that LORAN-C stations operated by the US Coast Guard (isn't that all of them in the US?) will be shut down sometime after the end of the 2009 fiscal year: http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/loran/default.htm
The last I'd heard, it sounded like LORAN-C was safe for quite a while, but apparently not. Bummer.
