Suppose your 17 HVS having flat backup battery, once power up, by default, it goes to Garmin mode. You need to run the setup with: SNSRCFG http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00242-53 Reconfigure the 17 to NMEA mode
