Yes, it is useful for quick comparisons: just put each frequency in each
input, and look the phase indicator. Change the frequency to be adjusted to
get a reading as stable as possible.
Logging the phase difference for a while, you can get a very precise adjust.

You do not need to use the GPIB interface: just chart the analog signal
correspondent to the phase.
