[time-nuts] Anybody experienced in using a prescaler as a wideband preamp?

Hi group,

I know my question is time-nuts of topics but as I know
there are some really skilled GHz specialists on the group
I like to ask whether somebody made experience
using a prescaler MMIC (i.e. up to 12GHz) as a 
very wideband preamp?
