The paper by Oliver Collins (/The Design of Low Jitter Hard Limiters/, Oliver Collins, IEEE transactions on Communications Vol 44, N. 5. May 1996) is somewhat more comprehensive with respect to the optimum gain and bandwidth distribution of the cascaded limiter stages.
