"Just for grins, I ran your PDF file through Adobe Acrobat to OCR it (and clean it up slightly). The image is still there, but the OCR'd text is there "underneath" and can be searched for, selected, etc. The OCR in Acrobat is pretty smart, in that it has a "clean-up scanned image" step it runs along the way that's pretty effective. Of course, the UI is just horrible, but I just try to ignore that bit.. It came with my Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M scanner and it seems to get the job done."
