There are two different SatStat programs, one by HP and one by Symmetricom, with Symmetricom being the later version.
I have a Z3816A and have had no problems with either program. I have both programs and have uploaded them both to various places. I can send you both of them if you would like to try that approach. I seem to remember you need a null modem cable or adapter for the Z3816A, IIRC. Might that be an issue for the Z3801A? However, I doubt you would be able to communicate at all if that were the case.
