We have DirecTV with some receivers standard definition and others High Definition. The delay is considerably greater on the HD version. Even OTA HD is delayed considerably, as noted if you try to listen to a football game on the radio while watching. Sometimes you hear "touchdown" before the ball is even snapped on TV.
