My best guess is that the reply never makes it to them because of a
bad firewall configuration and thus their (broken) software keeps
trying, trying, trying, trying...
If I didn't mention it the other day, then this is one of the main
reasons for having the vendor system[1]. With that we can at least
in theory figure it out if a particular vendor with the pool in the
default configuration have a bad configuration or implementation.
