Whats wrong with a soekris and an Motorola Oncore following the recepy of Poul-Henning's http://phk.freebsd.dk/soekris/ Using a soekris with PCI-slot should work with Heikos fine receivers as well, or the lately popular Garmin 16LVC (?). > > - I would even have preferred to get one of the excellent Meinberg cards > to go into one of my existing Windows PCs, but as the price was not > specified on the Web site, I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that it would > cost more than I could afford. Their receiving antenna is no different from a normal active antenna. Passive antennas does not work with small diameter coax cable longer than a few decimeters. So if your standart GPS antenna has 3 or 5 meter coax cable attached you can be sure its an active/amplified antenna with internal LNA (Low Noise Amp.). > I find that these antennas give adequate reception in my top-floor > location. Try with your standard antenna, if that does really not work. Try getting another with a higher gain LNA. > Cheers, > David best regards, Björn _______________________________________________ timekeepers mailing list [email protected] https://fortytwo.ch/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/timekeepers
