Hi all, I was just looking over my ntp stats for last year. It looks to me like there was a large swell of ntp pool traffic that hit around October or November of last year and is still going strong.
You can take a look at the graphs here (the top two on the left): http://www.dayww.net/ntpstats/yearly.php Admittedly, my graphs emphasize the peak rate (the average didn't go up that much, but it got spikier), but it appears that "the shape of the expected gradual increase" took a bump.
