I think that at least a part of this unexpected traffic increase observed at
the end of the last year can be explained by a lot of new PCs, routers, etc.
The situation will probably stabilize until an analogous 'yearly bump' will
repeat. Besides, an interesting new phenomena I observed (not seen a few
months ago) - occassional high traffic spikes even without been in the pool
DNS.

There are detailed statistics about servers on the pool web pages. I
understand that it is not so easy to have even rough estimates about the
number of pool clients. Nevertheless, more frequent updates of this number
will certainly be welcome. Not much can be seen at a single server. Four
months ago I started a statistic about distinct IPs I see. Some about
thirty thousand new IPs a day after day. There are no signs of any
saturation so far (see http://lx.ujf.cas.cz/ntp-lx/.IP-diff.png , needs
updating).
