You're right, it's on page 9, I missed that. Still I think it's nonsense when using USB for power. It is different of course in an automotive environment, supplying from the car battery, again for fire protection. And then why 1 Amp? The device pulls only 60 mA. Must be fire prot., not an issue with USB. Myself I'll leave out the fuse too, it's useless and I want the whole setup to be as simple as possible. I agree with you the led is not a good idea, it is unneeded and might give trouble.
