The poll interval is 64 seconds; your system runs for several hours and
still the reach is only 77 or even less, meaning the last 4-6 polls out of 8
(last 8.5 minutes) resulted in a reply. On my system it is a steady '377' or
8 out of 8 (the max). Note: it is an octal representation of an 8 bit shift
register.

How stable is your internet connection and how heavy is it loaded with
traffic? If you're doing large up- or downloads using all or most of your
bandwidth, then you cannot expect a stable time. The same applies to the
AC-NTP0/1/2.net.cmu servers. Perhaps you can try to replace two of them by
other servers with lower ping (delay) times. Also try to do no other network
traffic at all and see if things improve.
