I agree with you Jota.

There are ways of making a business around TinyERP, and many partners and non-partners are doing it successfuly. Fabien and the team do a great job. But what I think TinyERP lacks is an openess and clarity. Its almost as if the code is open but nothing else is...but I could be wrong there.

The great thing about Adempiere is that they are so open about all that they do and about the product. The bad thing about it is, well frankly, Adempiere itself, I just don't like it...

Having said that, i do hope we as a Community continue to share our developments with each other and assist each other in our ventures. There's plenty of customers &/or businesses out there who need TinyERP and we need to be able to focus on them and their needs.

I don't see a problem here.
Tiny understood the need for speed improvements, but as their development work
is driven by their paying customer demand, it is a matter of financing
additional development hours to increase the priority of speed improvements.

You are missing the point, Phil.

No question here about the good work Fabien and team are doing. It's great,
really, and we all own to them.

It's about transparency, clarity, objectives, openness, etc...
It's about what "community" means to Tiny.

It's about what to expect for the future of TinyERP, because right now, the
business model of Tiny is a little confusing regarding TinyERP. Maybe some lack
of communication here...

And, in one thing I don't agree with Mr. Fabien, above:
" Our goal is to open as much as possible Tiny ERP, and I think we succeeded in that
direction as we are the most open ERP. "

That is not true. The most open ERP right now is Adempiere
(http://www.adempiere.com) which, by the way, is a fork of Compiere..... ;-)
