Gerry,

As usual I agree with some of your comments and disagree with others ;)

1) Payroll. Maybe just a base support module could be included but the needs
for every country are so specific and different that I don't think it would be
useful at all. Payroll_country would be somewhat better but it is a huge task,
specially keeping it on sync with local laws and requirements.

2) Absolutely right. Maybe we could focus a bit on improving the wiki.

3) You know I don't agree with this one ;) I wouldn't trust my financial data
to any current version of MySQL (or any database that would accept the 30th of
february as a valid date), but hey... that's only my opinion. I think
PostgreSQL is mature enough and with a very good record on big-production
environments as not to question its quality. I think database independence is
very important if you have only support for Oracle, MS SQL Server or... plain
text files. If you offer support for a stable, production ready, free database
I don't see that this closes many market opportunities...

4) I don't know if openoffice is the answer but the report generation must
improve a lot. A graphical template creation engine (something like kugar for
example) would be great. I think manou started a project to achieve something
like that but I don't know if he got very far away.... Maybe time to give a
hand also...

I will add a new one:

5) A set of developer tools. I'd love to be able to use glade (or something
like it) to design my forms, as I said, a report generator, etc.

Regards,
Pedro
