Maybe once the requirements are understood, people should advise what resources they have available and how much they are willing to contribute. This may be cash, Python development time, project management etc. As an example, I have a qualified accountant who is very comfortable with Tiny and could contribute some time and advice. This may be much better all round than just funding a project. > 1.) Payroll >From my experience, many smaller companies will out source this as it is a very complex (and ever changing in the UK) subject. I guess a vote is the best way to ascertain the view of the people but I feel that it may be better to have the other areas of the system well developed first. > 2.) Support for MySQL database. There has been much opinion on this. I feel that the current DB is very good and as the Tiny DB should not be accessed directly, it may be irrelevant what backend is used. However, I am sure some folks would insist on familiar technologies or systems they already have infrastructure set up to manage (Backups, replication etc). > 3.) Support for Open Document Format I think this should be high up the priority list. Most folks who I have discussed Tiny with trust that the important stuff just "works" but want to discuss fields, UI and reports (invoices, quotes etc) in detail as this is their interface with the system. > I thnk many of us would be willing to contribute to these efforts. First it > should be estimated what the effort would cost. And then when that total is > reached, the project is undertaken. This is how I think it should work. The success of this will be a result of effective project management I believe.
