OK I have had a crack at it. It turns out to be fairly tricky. I have it merging order lines, and that requires me to merge moves, which involves updating picking list ids, etc.
But in the end, the two moves being merged disappear from the production order moves list (the 'general' tab), because of course they don't exist any more. The production order doesn't notice that the goods have arrived. I can probably fix this last problem. I can possibly even fix the disappear problem by adding the merged move to both production orders (although it would be inaccurate as the amounts would be too high, and two orders would be consuming the same move). Therefore it looks like it can't be done that way. I am wondering whether I need to keep the moves separate, create a new combined move, and then make the old moves 'point' to the new combined one, so that when the combined moves complete, so do the old moves (in which case the combined moves can be deleted). Just to clarify, I want the purchase order going to the supplier to show a single line combining all order lines for that product, and I want inward goods to see a single line in the same way, rather than picking 5 of xx and 10 of the same thing later in the order.
