Just as the other said, just wait for version 5 if you can afford to. Already a 
lot better (while have some regressions) and OpenERP never changed that much 
(in the good way) so that migration to version 5 will not be really easy. I'm 
sure the world will know OpenERP from that version 5... While OpenERP has 
always been better designed than most of other proprietary and open source 
ERP's, version 5 is finally achieving the professionalism of proprietary 
editors standards.

Also notice that depending both on your IT skills and on when you need to go in 
production, you could already use the version 5 to start implementing, focusing 
on solving the hardest problems at first + packaging a few demo data as XML in 
modules to test if you have everything fine.

At Smile;fr we are already integrating OpenERP v5 for two customers at least, 
provided they can wait the end of the year before going to production. There 
have been issues, there are much less now but that still not always so easy.
