That's a very important point, which is clear in the GPL-2/3 terms. They must 
provide source code.

That's a choice they make but, under the terms of the GPL, someone else that 
they have already supplied may choose to forward the code that they have 
received.

A business decision! Their choice! We might hope that convergence is their 
decision but it depends how many supported customers they have and how good 
their relations are with OpenERP sa.

Note that once you have the source code you have many freedoms. One of those 
freedoms is to continue to use the original supplier :-)
