The module recorder is totally non-intuitive and has not been improved in trunk.

As long as you remember when you started you can save your changes whenever,
but you may get other, extraneous changes mixed in which you will have to edit
out by hand. I suppose you could save a module for each session and load them
all when they are done, then save them once more into a single module.

Neither, of course [Evil or Very Mad] It is the directory internal to your
module. Why do you need a directory internal to your module? Who knows. It is
also used to name the xml file inside the directory inside your module, and as
the name of the zip file containing your module.

Right. Unless you change it your zip file will be named
<directory>-<version>.zip

You have to use the 'Save as' button to the right of the 'Module .zip file'
field that tells you the size of the zip file (!?)

All the ones you have made changes to that you want to save...
Unfortunately, choosing which objects to save requires just the kind of
knowledge you are trying to avoid having to acquire by using the interface to
do your customizations.

The best way to proceed when making modules through the interface is to create
a separate database just for that. Remember when you started, then when you
have finished save everything from that date-time.

Perhaps hda, or someone else from OpenERP sa, can fix this abomination for v6?
