First, let me rant that we have to answer the same question in so many different threads :x
In the process of developing 5.2, back in winter 2009, we decided to "break some eggs" and introduce a few important patches to the 5.0 series. Then, with the help of the community, an avalanche of patches/requests/features came against the existing codebase. 5.2 would clearly receive a lot of changes. Add the need for usability redesign on top of that, and it was apparent that we[1] were going for a big thing, a major release.. A piece of software (like OpenERP, please count the lines of code) is not a cake, that you put in the oven and let it bake for 35min. You try to follow a schedule, make some planning, but at the end it gets released *only* when you are confident that it's ready, it has reached the level of quality and stability you have set for. That's why v6 is still being worked on. [1] the community + the company. All people who are involved in the development of OpenERP. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=59760#59760 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman2/listinfo/tinyerp-users
