- i've read that on real hardware, the RSSI must a be positive value... RSSI is like "speed". Are you measuring in mph or km/h or some system that starts at negative one million units...
0dB is 1mW what of uniform power distribution. This is the maximum output for a telosb with an idealized radiation pattern. Now, when you start talking about big[ger] radios... - tossim doesn't allow to set up the signal power so Power = Gain? TOSSIM makes an assumption about the power output at the source. The USC generator can calculate gain based off of "the power" at some distance, d, from the source. It uses that information, and a simple model, to determine the gain: in essence, this calculation "changes the power" by providing a corresponding gain value for each link. - i try a constant value for the RSSI (-55) but my simulation prematurely stop , i've given 150 noise tracings for each sensor. what is wrong? why tossim stops the simulation? (my gain is equal to 0 for each pairs) What does "prematurely stop" mean? Does it just run to the end? Is the gain too low or noise floor too high for the nodes to communicate? TOSSIM runs VERY VERY FAST when there is little or no radio communication. Print out the simulation time to see. HTH, Paul
