     Correct. Signal power (in dBm) at the receiver is the same as gain
since it is assumed that the sender sends at 0 dBm.

     At a higher SNR, there is a higher probability of packet reception.
So in this sense, the link becomes better. But this is not
necessarily due to a higher signal power.
