If you want to read data from GPS at 4800 bits per second and send it
to the computer at 9600 bits per second, you can switch the baudrate
between the two operations. Look at resource arbitration code under
tinyos-2.x/tos/chips/msp430/usart. Unfortunately there is no example
application or code that performs this sort of switching but it
definitely is possible.
