The debs are the same as far as I know.
Héberte.. I am using TinyOS 2.1.0 with gcc 4.4.1. Do you think I should

The host gcc only matters when you use TOSSIM. The nesc is making use of
the cross compiler.
When you do 'make telosb' you'll see ncc being run with a lot of
parameters. Can you run by hand that command adding the -v flag? At some
point in the output you should see something like this:
#include "..." and component search starts here:
#include <...> search starts here:
[...]
/home/lpl/local/src/tinyos-2.x/tos/types/
/home/lpl/local/src/tinyos-2.x/tos/system/
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/msp430/3.2.3/include/
/usr/msp430/include/
End of search list.
The sys/inttypes.h is in /usr/msp430/include/. :-)

Finally, as I am in hurry with my work, I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 in
VirtualBox and works fine. But don't worry: as soon as I will have some free
time, I will come back and try to fix it. If I get it, you will have some
news from Madrid :-)
Thank you again. It is so nice to find so willing people.
Best,
David

Hello
Are you using tinyos 1.x or 2.x? If you use the version 1.x, try install
the gcc 3.4.
apt-get install gcc-3.4
Use this version for compile apps of tinyos 1.x
Sorry my bad english!
Cheers
Heberte

I did a clean install of the 9.10. Just to make sure, here are the
MSP430 packages I have:
$ dpkg -l 'msp430*' | grep ^ii
ii msp430-binutils-tinyos 2.17-20080806
MSP430TOOLS -- Binutils
ii msp430-gcc-tinyos 3.2.3-20080806
MSP430TOOLS -- GNU CC
ii msp430-libc-tinyos 20060801cvs-20080806
MSP430TOOLS -- Libc
ii msp430-tinyos 2.1-20080806 Dummy
package to pull in all msp430-related
ii msp430-tinyos-base 2.1-20080806 Dummy
package required by all msp430-tinyos
The repository I have in /etc/apt/sources.list is the following:

Hello Razvan,
Thanks for your quick answer :-) Unfortunately, I already had libc6-dev
installed, and new nesc 1.3.0 package seems not to solve the problem: when
compiling, I obtain the same results.
I ve also tried adding some includes in my makefie, but nothing.. is there
anyway to reset dependency manually?
My bad, I didn't notice that you are compiling for telosb. :P Did you
install the MSP430 toolchain? You should be able to get it by doing 'apt-get
install msp430-tinyos'. Give it a try and let me know if doesn't work. I
just installed a fresh Ubuntu 9.10 and it worked. :D
All the best!

After looking for in the mailing list and forum, I ve done tos-check-env,
and everything seem to be OK, so I guess is a problem with paths or similar.
I ve included stddef.h at /usr/lib/ncc
I ve also included this lines
CFLAGS+=-I/usr/lib/gcc/.../include // where there was stddef.h
CFLAGS+=-I/usr/include/
in /opt/tinyos-2.x/support/make/sim.extra
and does not work. Don't know what else to do.
Do someone has had a similar problem? Does someone have any idea?
Try to to install the libc6-dev package (apt-get install libc6-dev). The
nesc 1.3.0 package is missing this dependency. The 1.3.1 from here is
fixed:
