To get students to think about the differences between the way a question is asked, answered, and the characteristic being measured, I ask students to consider the 4-5 faculty in our department who frequently teach statistics. If they were to ask a senior student his or her opinion about the instructors' relative difficulty, what types of questions could they as?. How would different types of answers illustrate different scales of measurement? (Interval is always the most difficult.) -- ***************************************************************** * Mike Scoles * [EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Department of Psychology * voice: (501) 450-5418 * * University of Central Arkansas * fax: (501) 450-5424 * * Conway, AR 72035-0001 * * ********* http://www.coe.uca.edu/psych/scoles/index.html ********
