It seems likely that there's a story of historical importance here but probably it has never been related in print. One source I'd like to check is listed in Dworkin and Miller. It's a chapter by Lee Roberts in G.E. Schwartz and Shapiro's (1978) book _Consciousness and self-regulation_. We don't have it in our library. If someone has it handy, perhaps he/she could check it to see if Roberts has anything to say about DiCara.
