Another site that has a wealth of information is the National 
Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect 
<http://www.calib.com/nccanch/>.  As pointed out at this site and 
others, statistics on incidence of CA&N are quite difficult to 
estimate.  Regardless, the number of substantiated cases is large 
enough to cause us great concern, as is the large number of abuse and 
neglect cases of persons at the other end of the age continuum.
