Has anyone on the group ever calculated profile similarity, or the similarity between two persons/groups/whatever scored across a number of different dimensions? (Example: Imagine voters rating politicians across a number of different dimensions, such as financial conservatism/liberalism, relations with the media, hawkishness, charisma, etc. Profile similarity would enable you to answer questions like, "*Overall*, is Tony Blair more like George Bush or more like Bill Clinton?") And have you ever done this in SPSS? I'm working on a project using profile similarity right now, and I've found a couple of different approaches to it, and am wondering what advice any of you might be able to share. Especially if you've worked in in SPSS. Feel free to respond to me privately, as I expect this may not be of interest to the group at large. Thank you!
