Like Charlotte Manley (below), I have upper level students, I post my lectures (most of them), and I think the only problem is with the minimizers and class-cutters who imagine they can do it all in a few days before the exams. My live lecture always differs in detail from the posted version (which is always last year's version, and students know that). Existence of the notes makes me feel free to bring up fresh relevant ideas -- from student comments, from what's "in the news," quite often from things I've seen on TIPS, without worrying much about "covering" the however many basic ideas that the topic seems to require. Oh -- and I'm lucky to have a machine and projector in the classroom, so the notes, and particularly the figures and pictures, are all there in front of us at the time. -David
