If cost is an issue, ask your book reps if your intro book can be published in an alternate format (such as paper back or spiral bound). The pictures are still in color and the cost is considerably cheaper (although not as much as the book you were mentioning). I believe that before mark-up these books (with the paper back) can be only $45-48. We looked at on-line formats here and found out that our students were just printing out on-line readings because they felt more comfortable reading the materials that way (and it was costing our dept. quite a bit in ink and paper!).
