Hi Beth-- Quick comment as I am running out the door. There is a HUGE literature on employee dishonesty. The reasons are sometimes strikingly similar to why students cheat (pressure to perform, laziness/procrastination, and the like). But I think the most interesting literature is on organizational injustice. That is, employees who believe that they are being treated fairly and listened to when they have issues are FAR less likely to cheat or steal than are those who perceive that the employer plays favorties, does not listen, treats employees with disdain, distributes resources inequitably, and the like.
