I'd get in trouble if I didn't at least mention the Masters in Health Psych at SWT in San Marcos. This is a relatively new program, but has been gaining ground steadily. Sad part is that even though I helped get everything rolling that first year, I really don't know much about Health Psych. I was there more in an administrative/organizational role with others handling more of the curriculum, practicum, and internship details. There is more information about our program and health psychology in general on our website at:
http://www.psych.swt.edu/graduate.shtml
The brochure and slide show will probably be the most informative part for general information.
Our brochure and a lot of the information on the website are currently undergoing revisions, but the new information won't be available until after Sept 1. (Part of the revisions include a name change from Southwest Texas State University to Texas State University which the Texas legislature passed this session. But, since it doesn't go into effect until Sept. 1, we are forbidden to put anything out with the new name until after that date.)
I'll forward your question on to some of the people more involved with the program who can hopefully give you some more detailed information.
Hope this helps - Marc

I thought I would take advantage of the summer lull in TIPS postings to ask my usual grad school advising question about an area I'm unfamiliar with. This time it's health psych.
I'd appreciate any advice on programs, resources, research opportunities, applied job possibilities (post PhD), or anything else that might be helpful for an excellent student of mine who'd like to get a Ph.D doing this kind of research.
Thanks in advance, Traci --
