I've used a combination of computerized procedures (programmed by myself) and face-to-face procedures with students testing other students. For reaction times, you'll need the computer, but the face-to-face procedures are perfectly adequate for the replication of a number of "classic" experiments (e.g., short term memory span) and give the students important experience actually running subjects they don't get with the computerized procedures.
