You have to have been nominated by a student who is listed in the "National Honor Roll" who in turn has to have a certain gpa and is nominated by instructors at his or her school.  There is no obligation to buy the who's who book as there is with some other who's who publications.  So some selection (at least in terms of being nominated) is involved and I consider it something of an honor.  Obviously an honor that's not as difficult to achieve as some other honors, but it's not just a vanity thing where you buy the book and poof you're listed either.

Subject: Who's Who

TIPSTERS,

We have an applicant who cites her inclusion in "Who's Who AMong America's Teachers" under "Academic Honors and Awards" section of her VITA.  Is it really an honor?  Is it selective at all?  I was always under the impression that getting on the directory was as easy as saying you want to be on the list.
