The Department of Psychology at
the University of Wyoming expects to fill a tenure-track position in the area
of social psychology at the assistant professor level. The
appointment requires that the Ph.D. be received by August 30, 2005.
We are especially interested in applicants with a research
emphasis in psychology and law, social influence, group dynamics, or health
psychology, broadly defined, as those would complement our departmental
strengths, but all areas of social psychology are welcome to
apply. Teaching and research are important, and the
successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate
classes and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research, develop a
productive research program, and attempt to secure external funding. Teaching
may involve both on- and off-campus courses. Laramie is a small University
town close to the Medicine Bow Mountains (12,000 ft.), which provide outdoor
recreation, while the community and University host concerts, art exhibitions,
and dance and theater productions. It is also an easy drive to Denver,
Boulder, or Ft. Collins, CO. Review of applicants will
begin on December 1, 2004. Applicants should send their vita, copies of their
three most important scholarly papers, research and teaching statements, and
three letters of recommendation to: Social Psychology Search Committee,
