I live in an area that has a very substantial Amish population. As you know, the Amish do not watch TV, listen to the radio, etc. Yet when we stop at the local Amish bakery (if you haven't tried Amish baked goods, you haven't lived! :-), the people there seem as well informed about serious weather reports as are those of us with Internet based Weather programs (i.e., WeatherBug Pro) and the Weather Channel on our TVs.
It isn't necessary to have access to the electronic media to know what is going on in terms of weather--it's a topic that is discussed by people in a wide variety of settings. You should have had the answer to that question yourself, Michael--based on your habit of quoting lyricists. As Bob Dylan put it: "You don't need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows."
