There was a moving programme on BBC 1 TV last night about the 1990
Rochdale satanic ritual abuse scandal of 1990. The children concerned are
now telling their story and suing Rochdale council for the traumas they
suffered at the hands of credulous social workers. (Credulous in the sense
that leading social workers took on board the stuff they had been fed with
at conferences on "satanic ritual abuse" held in that period.):

showing credulity towards satanic abuse claims:

Interestingly, while I believe such scares in the States are fuelled by
evangelistic Christian organizations, this is rarely the case in the more
secular UK.
