Yow-ee.  Off the top of my head, I would first point out the benefits of psychology in any field dealing with human beings (maybe cognition, learning, and social psych specifically), then maybe specific applications of psychology to topics covered in the course (if you can get that information).

Just a thought.

Hi all,
I'm hoping that someone here might have some ideas for me...One of the education students at my school wants to interview me for her honors project about the role of psychology in social studies...Her questions are about how psychology is important to future social studies teachers?  What areas are most/least important?  etc.

I haven't had a social studies class for MANY years, so I am completely out of this loop on what these courses DO teach, let alone what they SHOULD teach.  I'm at a loss for what to tell her.

Does anyone have any ideas at all about this topic?  Even some brief points to get me thinking about this would be helpful.

Many thanks for your help!  (And, I apologize for the cross-posting.)

Marcia
