How would you know that your cat only looks for you when you are at home?

Thank you, very good question. I know because for quite some time now I have been very interested in the behavior of our two cats. For a time I set up a couple of video cameras in passageways to record where they go when no one is at home. Here is another interesting observation--Lying: If I come home, feed them and go out, when my wife comes home they ask her for food; if I stay at home after feeding, when she comes home they do not ask for food! There is so much more to the behavior of animals than we know through experiments or natural observations. I will not extend this further here, but some time in the future, if (well, not 'if' but 'when'!) my present work satisfactorily comes to a conclusion and I have time, I plan to write a small book on the naturally observed behavior of domestic animals; specifically dogs and cats.
