Michael Scoles: Are you equating the lack of belief in a diety with lack of belief? What do you mean by "belief?"
Jim Guinee: I was generally referring to theistic beliefs. Sorry if that seems fuzzy. Scoles: If someone believes that people are the source of problems and solutions, is that different from belief in Satan's temptations and God's grace. Jim Guinee: Not necessarily. Many Christians do subscribe to a belief in Satan, and generally ascribe to Satan the ability to tempt people. But the person is still responsible for the choices made (I'm avoiding extremist positions here). Flip might have said "The devil made me do it" but that don't fly. Scoles: And, more important, did arriving at one belief require more work than the other? Jim: Good question, but I can't think too well. My water heater leaked and now I'm living in a swamp. Thank God for carpet cleaning services that offer 24-hour water extraction... --- To make changes to your subscription go to: http://acsun.frostburg.edu/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=tips&text_mode=0&lang=english
