It depends? I guess. As long as one interprets and accepts that the evidences 
strongly confirms that the earth and universe are very old, and are constantly 
changing and will continue to do so. This is the best and most correct 
interpretation of the fossil record, "background" microwave radiation 
permeating the universe, etc.

I guess that depends on how one interprets the evidence, but I think this
is a good point.  The role of an educator is to teach, to challenge, maybe
refute.

It's not SHOULD we but HOW do we do it.  I think most of us do it in a
manner that doesn't seek to demean.
