I am not an academically attached and research oriented PhD as most
tipsters.I have only held full time positions at historically
African-American Colleges:
Albany State in Albany,Georgia and Bethune-Cookman University here in
Daytona Beach,Florida I had a lectureship and adjunct positions at
Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University here in Daytona Beach.
I consider myself more like a public intellectual; pass the knowledge down
to the public. Service is more attractive to me than scholarly recognition.
To me Leo Buscaglia is more effective than McGaugh and Diamond
(Physiological Psychologists) in their labs trying to determine
physiological neuronal variables.
To me knowledge should lead to effective social change. One of the penchants
of the Eurocentric paradigm is thart knowledge can be the mran and the
end in itself. I don't buy it.I am not on the planet to live up to
expectations of other people.
