Thank you to all of you who responded, both on the list and off-list, I really
appreciate it.
So, after amassing goats' milk puppy milk replacement, condensed milk, yogurt,
a tiny baby bottle and nipple, and a syringe, I still couldn't get the puppy to
eat. By then I was panicking a little (more) so I took him and his mom to an
emergency after-hours vet who charged me $97 and told me the puppy looked
great. After all of that, I brought him home and put him in his whelping box
with his mom, and he promptly started nursing. I feel much better and all of
your suggestions were extremely helpful. Y'know, I have imagined myself doing
tons of things on New Year's Eve--some romantic, some exciting--but never in my
wildest dreams did I imagine that I would end up milking a chihuahua. Huh. Just
goes to show how life can be very different than you plan it.

Thanks again, and happy new year to all.
Carol
