I have mistakenly compared the increased risk of a moderate drinker developing breast cancer in any given year with the increased risk of a smoker developing lung over his or her lifetime. I am not able to locate exactly equivalent statistics right now. (I am remain fairly certain, however, that when I do, they will show that the risk of a smoker developing lung cancer is orders of magnitude higher than the risk of a moderate drinker developing breast cancer, so the general point stands.)
