My main reason to switch as soon as possible was that I didn't see the point in spending another semester teaching a system I knew the students wouldn't use beyond that semester. In fact, I kind of felt sorry for those who learned the old system last year. I hope the current group can make it through grad school with the current system before another major revision (not including the errata which I would like to see as soon as possible).
