I gave a book report assignment to one of my classes at the beginning of
the semester.The book report was due at the end of the term,so students
had about 12 weeks to do the assignment.To my surprise,about half of the
class did not have in by the due date and they arte asking for an
extension.
This tells me that no matter how much time you give students to do an
assignment,most will wait till the last minute to do the assignment.
I am interested in knowing how much time should one give students for term
papers and reports.
I am beginning to think that two weeks should be the maximum time allowed.
Do you establish guidelines such as first,second and final drafts?
This could get them to speed up the process.
