Michael, liked your message. It stirred a question. Do you
think there is a difference between "truth" and "the truth?"
I'll leave it at that for now.
Louis, that's a neat question. I'm not a philosopher, but
with respect to the operations of the natural world, I think
that there is "the truth" out there to be discovered. I'm also
humble enough to know that science can bring us closer
and closer to the truth about the physical world (and not
being a dualist, I also mean the psychological world), but we
may never get there for every question.
Whether there are individual, personal, cultural "truths"
with respect to morality, spiritual belief, etc., I don't know.
I guess I'm not wholly comfortable with the use of "truth"
in this context. But I haven't thought deeply about it and
it's 9am. What are your thoughts?
-Mike
